Event Photography Money Making Ideas

One of the many ways you can make money as a photographer is to specialise on events. Christenings, weddings, and all sorts of other events where people make memories can be lucrative business. The great thing is that all you need is a great camera, lots of memory, and a stack of business cards.

How to do it

The key trick is in choosing your market slice. You must choose a slice of the market where people want to keep memories alive in print. It must also be an event that is hard to capture for a not professional so that they will need your services.

One idea is to go to kids sports events. Get permission from the coach to click pics for the parents watching and then start clicking away. If you turn up with a huge telephoto lens like the ones used for pro coverage of events, you will be taken seriously. Make sure you get all the kids doing great action shots and then hand out flyers to all the parents watching with your web address. If you can get hold of the parents email address so you can email them the URL of you site then upload the pics to your web site that day and email everyone. If you have a simple shopping cart set up you can make money in a few hours as people pop in to see the pics and buy them for $20 or more a pop.

You can do a similar thing with weddings. Take all the regular shots as part of the wedding coverage but then get your URL printed on the wedding invites and all the other wedding materials and also get an email list of all the wedding guests, offer the couple a nice 20% discount for doing this and then take lots of extra pics at the wedding of the guests doing all the things they do. Upload all the pics to your site and send the emails. You will then make a lot more money than the 20% discount it cost you because then 30 or 40 people will be also buying your pics at $20 or more a shot straight from your site. You can also charge a higher price for high resolution pics.

The key is to just find a corner of the market where you can take the pics and then sell them easily online.

Dog shows, fashion shows, horse shows, car shows, livestock competitions, rock shows, – the list goes on. Keep your eye out in the events section of your local paper to see what is happening. Always ask for permission to shoot pics and if you need to offer the people 10% of the income if feel you need to so you can get easy access.

There are also two different categories of motors, the brushless and those considered brushed. Fuel powered motors are very common in adults. Collectors Await America the Beautiful Quarters

In 2010 a new series of quarters will be launched by the United States Mint. The America the Beautiful Quarters series will issue a total of 56 circulating quarter dollar coins over the course of twelve years, featuring National Parks or other National Sites from each of the states, territories, and the District of Columbia.

The new series begins two years after the conclusion of the popular 50 State Quarters Program. From 1999 to 2008, the US Mint released a total of fifty different coins to honor each of the states. Average Americans were able to learn more about history and geography by examining the coins received in change. A separate program was launch in 2009 to feature the remaining United States Territories and Washington, DC.

While the America the Beautiful Quarters Program will be similar to the other programs, it will have a unique focus and introduce an accompanying bullion program. The new program will feature 56 different coins, with unique depictions on the “tails side” of the coin. The “heads side” will feature a restored portrait of George Washington. Quarters will also be released at a rate of five per year, but with a single design in the final year. The new coins will be released into circulation, making potential collectors out of anyone who receives them.

The new series will shift its focus to sites of natural beauty or historical significance. Sites selected for the program may include any park or site which has been federally designated and remains until the supervision, management, or conservancy of a federal entity. Eligible sites include National Parks, National Preserves and Forests, and Wildlife Refuges.

The new collectible introduced with the series will be over-sized silver bullion coins. These five ounce .999 fine silver coins will be issued each year with designs which are an exact duplicate of the quarters. The coins will be sold by the United States Mint as bullion through their network of authorized bullion purchasers.

The United States Mint has already established the order of release for the entire 56 quarter program. The America the Beautiful Quarters will issue the different designs in the order the sites were federally designated. The first year of release will include Hot Springs National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Yosemite National Park, the Grand Canyon, and Mount Hood National Forest.

Find more details about America the Beautiful Quarters including release dates, design proposals, and coin descriptions. Find information on the separate series of America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins.

Why A Magazine Subscription Is Convenient

I like to sign up for a magazine subscription because there seems to be a lot of good things in a magazine. I like to read about news and things going on with celebrities. I also enjoy looking at magazines because they have a lot of interesting pictures in them.

The down fall of getting the subscription is that you will have to wait until it comes in the mail. A lot of people do not even like to use what people call “snail mail”. If it was not for people not knowing how to use a computer then they would probably do away with snail mail.

I always hate when I have to go through so much trouble just to get a magazine. Like when I go through several surveys and a bunch of crap only to get a magazine that I am only going to read a couple times before I throw it away.

I enjoy a magazine more when it has a lot of information in it. I like to look at pictures of fashion, pets and also vehicles. My fiance usually gets truck magazines and these can be expensive at times. If he gets a subscription then it is not a bad price at all.

It does not matter where you get a magazine subscription from as long as you enjoy it. Some companies offer you a full refund if you are not satisfied with their magazines. I have not ever ordered a magazine that I did not like.

You should never pay fifty dollars a month for a magazine in my opinion, because it is not worth it to buy something you only get about twelve times a year. I try to limit myself to buying only a couple magazine subscriptions and it only costing me about thirty dollars a year. You can make your own judgement and this is your choice because you are the one who is paying for them.

Magscriber is a great place where you can select a wide array of magazine titles for magazine subscriptions . Visit the site online to know more.

Enjoy the Craft of Beaded Jewelry

Creating your personalised beadwork jewelry symbolizes an innovative hobby that allows you to develop unequaled art objects for yourself, family and friends. It is an appreciated avocation that can be expanded into a home occupation. Here is how you are able to get going.

If you inquired yourself “could not I create that myself?” When you searched through and through rows of bead bracelets, necklaces or earrings at a stylish boutique, the response follows “certainly”. Beadwork represents an originative and amusing hobby that not alone will have you produce extraordinary, handmade items of jewelry, but will in addition to comprise a great source of bighearted ideas for family and friends.

The first step would constitute to uncovering a good local bead store. In that respect are terrific mail ordering catalogues and internet site* that will sell you entirely the supplies, search a business that offers support and advice. A outlet could in addition to offer a number of beginners’ courses that would assist you learn fundamental methods (if there is no bead shop in your town, some introductory books such as The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Beading will have to do).

Start with a simple project, such as a bracelet or basic necklace, and do not go overboard with expensive beads and findings (clasps, hooks, etc.). You might be wanting to use Swarovski crystal, sterling silver and semi-precious beads right now, but you can work up to that later. Some stores will even offer packaged starter kits that include a beading board (which helps you with project layout and measurements), some basic tools, beads, wire, findings and a how-to-book.

You should then set up your “beading space” ? preferably a respectable, well-lit area. You might wish to purchase an effective lamp, maybe one included with an enlarging lense. Remember, you will be stringing up many quite little objects! Be sure you possess good deal of containers to accommodate different types and colors of beads. Nothing will spoil your pleasure of beading like having to hunt for a individual bead in a miscellaneous pile. Beading shops will sell you distinguishable storage systems (including beading bags for the beader-on-the-go), but you are able to also experiment with inexpensive plastic containers meant to hold small hardware or fishing tackle.

A Look At A Metal Cutting Saw

When I first saw the Panasonic EY3530 Metal Cutting Saw, it looked cute. Cute, but not something that seemed useful in the real world. This assessment was incorrect. Any job you visit will be using many different metal cutting saws to get projects done for all types of trades.

What saws are they?

It’s simply a cordless circular saw that runs a carbide-tipped metal blade at the rpm you choose. Typically these saws have a guard to catch the metal shavings. This type of saw is designed to cut cleanly through mild steel. I have a great story about a sales rep who went into a customer’s office, pulled out his cordless metal saw and cut off a piece of threaded rod, then threaded a nut on — so fast that the customer didn’t have time to throw him out. This particular sales rep sold many of these tools with his unique approach.

What can these saws cut through?

Any mild steel, like threading rod, unit-stud, metal siding, EMT pipe, and duct work can be cut by cordless metal cutting saws. You can also purchase blades for aluminum. It is not recommended, but some people have used them on copper. The most common thing these saws are used on threading rod, strut, and EMT pipe. You will get a better cut if you get a blade with more teeth if you are cutting thin metals.

Who manufactures metal cutting saws?

You can get saws like these from DeWalt, Milwaukee, and Makita, but the Panasonic EY3530 is the most popular saw. If you already have a saw, but want to improve your cut, Tenyru sells the best carbide tipped blades for almost any saw. I feel that it is important to have a saw that is specific for the work you are doing, but if you just want to get a carbide blade your saw should be okay. Go ahead and try them out.

You can usually return cordless power tools within 30 days, no questions asked. I tell all my customers about this policy, but none of them have ever returned a tool. You should try out the Panasonic EY33530 Metal Cutting Saw.

Collecting Civil War Toy Soldiers? It Is Great For Little And Big Boys Alike

Toy soldiers have been the favorite playthings of young boys for more than two thousand years all over the world. They have always loved to have mock battles on the floors of their bedrooms and kitchen tables. Army men and toy soldiers have always been a delight to boys and girls.

People have used small human figures as teaching aids forever. I am sure the first human mothers taught their daughters about raising babies and families with dolls. Males used miniature animals to educate their sons how to stalk and kill beasts in the wild. Using these aids allowed proper techniques to be transferred safely and quickly, with no risk to the hunter, improving the hunting success. The Roman Legionnaires were probably instructed in this same manner all of their lives.

The instructional toys of man have changed as he has. Simple warriors and hunters of prehistory have grown to more modern toys. There still is a fascination with armed struggle and military miniatures are as popular as ever. Army men have been a source of study for their uniforms and supplies as well as the battle they fought. Collecting or even playing with these tiny armies and the lore of war will entertain men of all ages for hours on end.

Pair this with the American fascination of the Civil War and you have an amazing field of collecting. There are civil war toy soldiers and items you can buy that are representative of famous battles of that great conflict. Weather you are a American history collector or a battle strategist, nothing can compare with the thrill of collecting civil war toy soldiers.

There are many battles to relive. Choose your favorite: Bull Run, Vicksburg, or Gettysburg, the greatest and most deadly one of all. Collect civil war toy soldiers from both sides of the Mason Dixon line and stage your own battles. Who knows, the South might win this time.

Collect an entire regiment, troops, wagons, horses, houses, fences you can find everything needed to equip an army, even zouaves. Toy soldiers are to be found from the North as well as the South representing real units from the war. You can find the great generals of that conflict: from the South, Lee, Jackson and Pickett and from the North, Grant, Sherman and Sheridan.

Since the War Between The States happened in the mid 1800s, the market for antique civil war toy soldiers is very strong. They are in high demand making them very expensive and still commanding high prices. These valuable civil war toy soldiers were usually hand painted and cast from lead.

There is however, a large market of more modern, plastic toy soldiers from many sources. These too can be hand painted or purchased in the raw so you can paint them yourself. This lets you pick which side your soldier is going to fight for. You could make your cavalry man an officer in the First Virginia by painting him with a gray great coat, gray riding hat and sash. By painting this same figure a dark blue, he could become a rider for the Ohio 3rd Cavalry unit.

Collecting civil war toy soldiers can be a joyful and educational learning experience for both the armchair general marching off to war with his tiny armies or the American historian making battle scenes no matter how old or young they happen to be. Just make sure you don’t tell them they are learning anything, let’s keep it a secret.

Photo Retouching for a Beauty Pageant Photo

Have you ever looked at all the fashion magazines and seen the most gorgeous models on the cover? You never see so much as a little blemish as they have the perfect picture skin and it is a perfect picture. The mystery behind this is it simply comes down to the retouching of the photo.

With various retouching techniques, it’s quite easy to remove a little scar or perhaps some minor acne breakout for example. Sometimes it’s done just with the makeup before the photos are taken but often it’s done after the photo has been done. It’s just done with photo shop retouching techniques for example.

It’s much easier to do it with the photo in many cases. What happens is that if it’s being done manually prior to the photo the makeup might not be just right or maybe looking thick and uneven. With the digital photo retouching it makes it much simpler because if it’s not right the first time you can simply keep working on it until you get it the way you want it.

That’s the nice thing about owning a digital camera. Now you don’t have to have a professional to fix your important pictures. Again, it will be done with the various software’s that are available on the Internet.

You are going to have to have the image editing software. Some free ones that are on the net are quite good such as Gimp. If you want something that’s far more intense, you probably would be better off with Photoshop.

You may be somewhat limited with Gimp as to what you can do but with Photoshop, there are multiple things that you can do to get the effect that you want. Let’s say for your photo shoot pageant retouch you need to smoothen soften the skin or perhaps you need to get rid of a blemish or make the eyebrows fuller it won?t be a problem. Then if you need to add some makeup or even tan the skin, a little bit, you can do it as well and you can even remove stray hairs. You can whiten the teeth or you can touch up the shine on the lips for example. As you can see there is virtually no stopping what you can do to alter the looks of the model for the project. Many Photoshop tutorials online will teach you and take you through the various steps of what you can do.

It’s important that if you take your photography seriously that you learn all the techniques that are available to you to allow you to be an excellent photographer. There is certainly no problem or reason that touchups are not acceptable. Almost any developing company or photographer would use these methods whenever necessary. The object is to get the picture perfect.

It will take some practice to learn how to use all of the various aspects of the software but it will be well worth the effort when you see the finished product in your photos.

Get free photo editing with step-by-step video training and tutorials with free photo editing programs from PhotoEditorX. This is the industry-leading software used by professionals worldwide.
